1. Discuss your decision making process of which images, language, colours you chose to have on your collage.
I chose images and colours that i felt best reflected me as a person. I chose things i like to display on my moodboard, I think they reflect me well as i chose things that are quite predictible and feminine.
2. Do you feel that the collage allowed you to express all aspects of your life and identity? For example: your age, gender, race, status, where you live, your lifestyle, interests/ hobbies, personal beliefs/ philosophies? Explain.
i think it allowed me to express my interests/hobbies and gender - as all of the images on my moodboard were things that interested me, i felt this reflected me well as it also reflects my image which i feel is an important part of identity as it allows you to express your likes (fashion).
3. What did you deliberately choose not to place on your collage and why?
I chose not to display my dislikes, as i don't strongly dislike something, so felt it wouldnt be as effective. I also did not choose to express my race, where i live etc. as i felt my hobbies/interests.reflected me as a person.
4. How aware were you, when choosing key images, of how they might be received/ read? How far did this impact on your choices?
4. How aware were you, when choosing key images, of how they might be received/ read? How far did this impact on your choices?
i would not include something that i thought would offend or make anyone feel uncomfortable (not that i like anything like that!), but the images i selected i chose because i like them, and they were the interests i liked most, i didn't have to think about how they would be interpretted as they were all fairly ordinary/common.
5. What comments did the group make that you agreed or disagreed with?
they knew it was me - i agreed. there were no negative comments.
6. If you were to do this exercise again, what would you change?
i would add more personal images e.g. dislikes, status, where i live etc. and i would also add some texts e.g. sayings, motto's etc.
7. How ‘mediated’ do you feel your peers charts were? Explain.
